KGPU - CUDA accelerated Linux kernel

GPUs can speed up the kernel of operating systems. KGPU is a framework for calling GPU code from the Linux kernel. Here are some kernel tasks than can be accelerated by the GPU:

-- network packet processing;
-- in-kernel cryptography (IPSec, encrypted filesystems);
-- pattern matching (the GPU can accelerate regular expression matching, with speedups of up to 48x reported over CPU implementations);
-- basic algorithms: sort, search and graph analysis;

KGPU is implemented using NVIDIA CUDA. To demonstrate the feasibility of KGPU, the AES encryption algorithm has been implemented as a service on the GPU for the Linux crypto subsystem. When the size of data is larger than 8KB, the GPU (a GTX 480) outperforms the CPU (Core i7-930).

Workers in Chinese factories forced to sign pledges

Anti suicide net
After a spate of suicides last year, managers at the factories ordered new staff to sign pledges that they would not attempt to kill themselves, according to researchers.

And they were made to promise that if they did, their families would only seek the legal minimum in damages.

This was done mostly for the fact that quite a few people saw suicide in those places as a quick way to earn money for their families ..... its damn depressing reading these things and seeing how much people get payed and in what kind of conditions they have to live in there.

SLI coming to AMD chipsets again!

Starting from AMD's new 9 series chipsets you will be able to get SLI aswell!
This is good news because consumers will have more options for selecting boards and you wont be forced into a handful of boards if you really want SLI.

It has begun ....

The team from "Hurt Locker" has made plans to make a movie about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
Would have thought people wait a little bit before making these things since it's been a day and already its time to make a movie apparently.

Razer Hydra

A new interesting controller for PCs is about to be released from Razer the Hydra. Looks quite similar to a wii controller but this looks to be more precise. At first glance it might seem a little awkward to use and it really doesn't seem like  something you would want to use for heavier FPS sessions but to have some fun times it looks very promising.
